“The Metal chart, also as usual, was our most active, with a brand new #1 in Ravage Machinery; BloodKlot climbing from #9 to #3; The Great Gamble entering at #4; A.I.F. - As I Fall - entering at #5; Thyresis jumping all the way to #8 from #73; Lord Impaler climbing to #9 from #22; and a new #10 in A STRAND OF FATE. The biggest jump of the week was Shallowpoint, who were #98 last week and are now #35. Congratulations!”

“ASoF Blazes a New Path Through Old Territory Oklahoma City’s (Shawnee, to be exact) A Strand of Fate is a difficult band to peg, style wise. There are elements of so many genres mixed throughout their sound, which keeps it fresh, innovative and intriguing. The band’s 5-song debut EP, Guide Our Destiny, is packed with heavy grooves, solid melodies over tight rhythms, chunky guitars, all cemented with a crushing bottom end. The foundation is set for this quartet to make a sledgehammer impact given the right opportunity. In listening to the band’s songs, one can’t help but feel like a journey is underway. The songs lead us off in one direction and before we know it we’re somewhere completely different, yet it holds together so well. While the guys are not all the way there just yet, there is enough fulfilled promise in where they are so far as to be deserving of a label’s attention. In the studio, with the right producer and a little guidance, these guys could crumble granite.”

“Based on our listen, the following aspects of this release are outstanding. We thought your track had rousing energy that moved us as listeners. You sound confident in your musical skills and the parts you're playing. We think your rhythmic elements on this release can hang with the best of them. Tight, clean and interesting playing. Lead vocals are the first thing that most listeners pay attention to, so a great performance is essential. Your lead vocals really grabbed us. We don't tag a lot of releases as having great lead vocals, so this is an excellent strength for you to have. We thought this song had a logical structure and all the parts were distinct. A good song structure generally has both repetition and surprise, and we thought you nailed it. Give listeners a better sense of what's happening melodically and harmonically. Your arrangements were just right. Nice job. This is very much its own art form. Nice work.”
