Formed in the heart of Fort Worth, Texas in 2008, vocalist Sean Foster & guitar player Dustin Valenta sought to pursue a musical endeavor that would inspire awe and creativity to all who cared to listen. Upon meeting their friend and co-founding guitarist Gannon McCoy, that endeavor would come to pass and spark an enthralling brotherhood of passion and sound. Now former member, bass player Nash Vaughan & drummer Joey Spates joined the group in January 2009, and the band soon grabbed the attention of many young musicians and music lovers across the state. In a flurry of demo recordings and monumental show opportunities in some of Dallas/Fort Worth's most popular and premiere venues, LIZARD PROFESSOR quickly developed a stewing reputation as a powerfully rhythmic and melodic progressive metal entity with an exuberant and colorful intensity in their live performances.
In early 2011, the vocalist and two guitarists were blessed to meet an extraordinary drummer named Bryce Butler who would bring a new energy and a whole new level of intricate virtuosity to the groups live presence, as well as their future recordings. As did the induction of their bassist Jovan Reyes in early 2012, who added an even more eclectic and classic jazz smoothness to their already powerful orchestrations!
All the while, the group has intended to fulfill the pre-conceived notion of releasing an epic, progressive metal debut, entitled "Eccentricity". Lyrically, this album is a refreshing an original approach to the window of the inner self. Well accompanied by the musicians avant-garde escape of neo-classical monster fusion: A proverbial roller coaster of emotions through the maze of the mind, and an audible representation of the complexity and contradiction of the human soul.
