D. Stevens grew up in a musical and religious family in Rochester, New York. He is the youngest of four children. At church his mother sang in the choir and praise team right along with his two older sisters. His older brother Sam played the drums, bass and keyboard. While being brought up in a musical family he realized that he was also destined to do something musically. At the age of 9 and barely able to reach the foot pedal, he shocked everyone and started playing the drums out of nowhere. From then on he began to play the drums and years later played the keyboard at the church also.
Amongst being a talented musician, D. Stevens was a multi-sport athlete growing up excelling in baseball and football. However as the years passed his passion for music outweighed his passion for sports so he decided to focus on music. Around that same time he ventured in to music production. He began making beats for local talent. However this still wasn't enough for him. His senior year in high school he formed a rhythm and blues band called "Deep". They went on to do many shows in the New York State area and generated a fairly decent buzz until they parted ways after six years. D. Stevens continued his pursuit as a solo artist releasing a mixtape entitled "Half Man, Half Amazin'" in 2013. He's now currently still producing music, songwriting and now a vocalist in the new multi-genre band "ReDd Karpett".
