Back in 2011, Whiskey Kill began playing small New England bars and clubs and amassing a passionate fan base. The band debuted its initial effort, Pissed Off Betty in New Hampshire to highly favorable reviews. It was voted in the top twelve albums for 2012 in Spotlight Magazine and in the top ten in The Wire. After relocating to Somerville in early 2012 and adding new personnel, the band’s sound began transitioning from a traditional country feel to a more truckin and rockabilly perspective. 2013 finds the band touring the summer New England hot rod car show circuit as well as opening for national artists such as Reverend Horton Heat, Bloodshot Bill, and Three Bad Jacks.
2013 was also a bright year for the band with the release of their second studio recording, entitled "Wrecker", as well as featured performances at Boston’s World of Wheels car show, Milltown, and the New England Shake-Up. The album was also nominated for a Spotlight Award.
In 2014, the band continue to play rockabilly festivals, club shows, and car shows in RI, CT, NY, MA, NH, and ME, and open for national acts such as Wayne Hancock and Nashville Pussy. The band is currently working on new material for digital release in early 2015.
Whiskey Kill consists of Tom Ferry (vocals, guitar), John Cortes (guitar, vocals), Ray Himmer Jr (upright bass) and Mike Demers (drums).
