Barton Joseph French Jr. was born and raised in the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, PA. His mother, Deborah Scott, was a very talented vocalist while his father, Barton Joseph French Sr., was a phenomenal guitarist. Being brought up in such a musical and God fearing household, there was no surprised when Bart decided to join his church choir at Holy Cross Baptist Church, where he blew the congregation away Sunday after Sunday. Gaining a great deal of confidence through the church, Bart started to find himself more and more through his music.
As Bart matured, so did his love for music and his stage name. With his ability to serenade women with his voice at such a young age, they decided to call him “Beano the Gentleman”. At this point, he began to showcase his talent outside of the church, starting with BET’s own 106 & Park where he won his hometown a surprise performance by Def Jam Recording Artist, Ludacris. Soon after, Beano was discovered by International DJ Casper and became a member of Caspaws Music Group. After several trials and tribulations with his new group, Beano and his family felt it wasn’t the right fit and he decided to leave Caspaws. With performances like opening for Bad Boys’, B5 and Ether Boy’s, Ron Browz at Sneaker Villa’s High School Basketball Classic and various openings for artists like Akon, Kid Sister and Philly’s own Freeway at Solo Night Club under his belt, he felt very well prepared to start his solo career. After building a solid team around him, Beano is looking forward to working on his first project with help from some notable Philadelphia Singers, Songwriters, Producers and Engineers. Beano the Gentleman’s time is now!
