I love to make music because it’s one of the only languages that everyone in the world is fluent in. We’re all inspired by the music that we listen to, and we can all relate to it regardless of age or experience. I’m inspired not only by the music from the generations before me, but also from this one. I strive to make music that can pull in the youth of today, but also remind previous generations of the music they listened to when they were younger.
I take time with most of my writing, because I want to make sure that every word, note, and chord goes well with each other. If something doesn’t feel right, I’ll go back and try to find another way to go about a certain piece. No matter how long it takes, it’ll come out clearer in the end. I always want to be comfortable when I’m playing originals, and not stress over changes I should’ve made to them.
It’s always a challenge to write music, but that makes it worth doing. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it. It’s truly a gift that I’m thankful for, and want to share with the world.
