The Spirit's Journey Begins...

Bonafied was born in Mombasa, Kenya. "Nicknamed" Simba by the nurses for his characteristics and traits, he was officially named after Curtis Mayfield by his father and mother. Born into a boxing family, discipline and The Living Bible were among the first things Bonafied learnt, along with karate and responsibility. By the time he was eight he was no stranger to Mwembe-Tayari or the streets of Mombasa. Having lived in various areas of Mombasa, including Kizingo, Likoni, Nyali and Mto-Panga, Bonafied later moved to Nairobi and by the age of nine he was in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Like a bird with no feet, Bonafied moved around alot. He went to alot of different schools but rarely missed Sunday School. By the time he was 10, he knew enough of the Bible to mesmerize almost anyone who didn't study it literally. Excelling in English, in grade 4 he won a Canada-wide creative writing contest with a poem "The Best Dad In Town". Describing why his dad was "the best dad in town" landed himself and his father in Campbell River on an all expense paid fishing trip.

Having left his homeland of Africa with a 97% average (British System of Education) he always did great at academics but his favourite was sports, including track & field, soccer, basketball... you name it.. he was probably the true inventor of "Free-Running". He accepted Christ every Sunday, went to almost all church functions, retreats and every church summer camp possible through the years. He was even one of the fortunate enough to see the Power Team live, but none of this changed or really impacted the law of attraction when it came to the company he kept. Juvenile detention centers followed shorty after school detentions, suspensions and expulsions. After reading The Cross and the Switchblade while in Burnaby Youth Custody Center, Bonafied had no idea he would meet the Author and Evangelist Nicky Cruz. Even baptized several times, including once by Henry Hinn, Bonafied found himself lost, confused, ambitious and distraught.

Though trying to please God and family, Bonafied couldn't help his attraction to the streets nor to the finer things in life. This led to his fall for the street life, and like a sheep with no shepherd he wandered into all types of danger with no fear of losing his life or soul. With his arsenal of God given talents, he took his self-taught lessons and adolescent level of understanding and served himself and what he had come to believe in ("street code") whole~heartedly! After being through everything from incarceration to loose and broken teeth, to being hacked with a machete, etc, alcohol, marijuana and cigarettes with no filter became his best friends of choice along with convicted and non convicted killers, drug dealers and users, pimps and prostitutes, extortionists, you name it. Though loving Christ, he spent very little time with Him. Even after numerous supernatural encounters with the Holy Spirit, Bonafied was hardheaded!

Shot more than enough before.. Bonafied was last plotted against, literally hunted, shot (multiple times with a .45), and murdered from behind at point blank range, on camera, in front of many witnesses across the street from the police station.

One of the bullets went thru his pelvic bone, carved a path straight through his bowels and got stuck in his stomach!! Another left entry and exit wounds the size of a quarter through his right thigh!! Though 3 Vancouver Police Officers had arrived on the scene almost immediately, they told him to lay down and die. He instead remained standing with a hole through his pelvis on one side, and two holes through his leg on the other all of which were pouring his blood out of them like running water from a faucet for 45 minutes waiting for an ambulance to arrive but to no prevail. This all occurred less than one block from the police station and no more than a block away from the Fire Station. When what he calls "the real cops" showed up there was sirens an ambulance police officers (who he hadn't watched with his own eyes turn their radio volumes off while replying to dispatch "victims known to police") so he finally did lay down, and thats when the vultures dug in. People he grew up with and knew for years took everything. Even prostitutes were posing as his friends and robbing him and emptying out his pockets, on camera!, while watching him die!!

Bonafied has never had it easy. Almost lost as an infant, then raised on discipline and the Bible, Bonafied was eventually beat at the same game he had won for so many years. But Bonafied has been chosen. He was reborn. He has been given a second chance at life and he knows what to do with it!!

Stay tuned for much MUCH more...
