Smells Like Green... started in the spring of 2007 as a joke. The band's sole voice, Nicholas Haddox wanted to create a band that wrote odd songs about things affecting his life. As he developed his playing ability and acquired some meager equipment the band evolved into an outlet for it's creator. First came"Cliche Self-Titled First Album," and "The Motivation," a haphazardly recorded set of demos, followed by an expoloration of the dark side of love and human sexuality called "Taboo," and a remix record called "A Bitter Black Hole Bitch Remixes". Following the "Taboo" sessions came a 27 track record that served as a metaphor for Nicholas' previous experiences and predictions for the future entitled "The Suicide Machine Anthems." After the release of "The Suicide Machine Anthems" Smells Like Green saw a jump from "studio junkie," to live performances seeking band members to translate the recordings into an energetic live show. Another series of recording sessions in 2010 yeilded a remix album of "The Sucide Machine Anthems" called "Cold, Quiet and Distorted." More sessions in 2010 to 2011 led to a 14 track record called "The Wanderer(s)" released April 20, 2011. Nicholas Haddox has since returned to previously recorded tracks for remastering sessions, and is in the process of working on new material for a record, previously called "X," but now referred to as "Citizen Cain" set for release in 2013.
