Theory Hazit / Bio

In June 2007, Theory Hazit released his first internationally distributed recording, Extra Credit. It was made available via record labels, Hip Hop Is Music, Superrappin, and Fat Beats. From the success of this release, he later began release more, adding on to somewhat of a buzz. It was from here on where Theory started gaining popularity when his animated music video, "I Just Wanna Go Home" went viral.

He later toured the U.S. and Europe with mentors, Braille and Ohmega Watts of LightHeaded. In 2008, he released Lord Fire with newfound collaborator/producer, Vintage, gaining more acclaim and buzz for the artist. Soulful chops with a Pete Rock/9 Wonder-esque influence, the Lord Fire LP became a favorite among many others. Later, track 2 from the album, "Deep Breaths," was featured in the award-winning Long Beach skate documentary, On the Grind. The director of the indie film, James Cheeks III, reached out to Theory, flew him out to L.A., and insisted on shooting a video for the song. Eventually, Mr. Hazit developed a knack for collaborating with talented producers all over the globe.

While working on his side projects and his album, Theory has worked with Braille, Ohmega Watts, Othello, Hi-Tek, Exile, Strange Fruit Project, Oddisee, MC Eiht, The ARE, Wildchild from LootPack, LMNO and countless others. He more recently connected with former Tunnel Rat producer, Dert to debut the album, Thr3e. Dert, known for Dert Floyd Westside of the Moon and executing Bjork hits with Talk Strange, adds his flavor giving Theory an audio makeover.

Thr3e is Theory Hazit's official release since Extra Credit. With the production handled entirely by Dert, the project also features B.Reith, Propaganda, Melanie Rutherford, Colette Chantel, DJ FlipFlop, Donavan Luke Henry, Cole Brown and Sivion. With plenty of stories to tell, a bag full of witty punchlines, and the boldness to be honest in his music, Thr3e is considered Theory's best work to date.
