WORK LOVE DANCE
Thank you for stopping by my site. Welcome!
My name is Debra and I have a passion for music. The guitar is my favorite instrument and I adore my Martin acoustic/electric. Her long smooth neck and smell of rosewood is a therapeutic touch.
I learned to play guitar so I could write songs and sing them. I love people and I like to make them laugh and cry. To experience the essence of my craft it's best to see me perform live. I like to open a show with "Daddy". That song emerged from the lost and vulnerable little girl who dwells in my soul and the adult woman who lives with her on the outside.
"Actions Speak Louder Than Words" was penned while I grieved the loss of a family member due to cancer. I had to sing it over 20 times before making it all the way through without crying. I was going through a marital seperation around the same time and longing to be shown some love instead of just hearing the words.
Last but not least "The Apron Song" was written on March 4th of 2007. I let my imagination go crazy on that one. I sat down with my guitar after cleaning up a dirty kitchen and let the rhythm and blues come together in perfect harmony. Did I mention I was going through another break-up at the time?
I'm an American girl with American dreams. I love GOD and family.
One of my life long dreams is to play music with my brothers and sisters in Christ.
I PRAY THAT THE POWER of MUSIC WILL CHANGE the WORLD....one FAMILY at a time!
