Black Bottom Lighters originated in 2010 out of Phoenix, Arizona. Influenced heavily but not limited to reggae/rock, Black Bottom Lighters are inspired by hip hop and other touches of genres as well. From Steel Pulse and Shaggy, to Rebelution and Flogging Molly, their versatility is justified by having played shows with heavy hitters in a vast area of music. Releasing their self-titled debut EP in late 2012, the unique sound of Black Bottom Lighters has made an impressive and still growing impact on the west coast. Early 2013 sent the 6-piece band on a successful west coast tour for the first time, "The Oregon Trail Tour." This tour sent the Arizona based band through California up to Eugene ,OR where they headlined the BurntwoodStock Music Festival. Shortly after this tour they were flown out to Jacksonville FL where they played The Big Ticket Music Festival along side artist such as Stone Temple Pilots, 30 Seconds to Mars, Pepper and a list of other known national acts, which also opened up the opportunity to play the True Music Festival in Scottsdale, AZ with Wiz Khalifa, Capital Cities, The Flaming Lips and more. After playing these festivals and getting a taste for the tour life, Black Bottom Lighters returned to the studio to record their debut album "2 or 2000", which was released on April 2015. It was an honor to be the first local band to headline Scottsdale newest music venue LiveWire and the venue was nearly at capacity having sold over 1100+ tickets for the album release show on April 18th 2015. Black Bottom Lighters are taking the momentum from that show and are set to hit the road this summer which will include stops in CA, AZ, Mexico, OH with more shows being added.
