“I desire to be the voice for people of various ages and circumstances when they feel they have no words or choices. A relatable inspiration is what I strive to be despite and because of limitations society has tried to impart upon me. Bakeman Global is not a brand, it is an energy built upon a stimulating, empowering, diversified force- ME.”
- Chase Baker aka Bakeman Global
Chase Baker aka Bakeman Global was born Curtis Small in Bedford -Stuyvesant Brooklyn NY, in Lafayette Gardens project houses. He grew up with the familiar life of most urban children in America: jail, drugs, and gang affiliations. Fortunately, for Chase he possessed an innate skill for basketball, which afforded him an opportunity to attend college.
Initially attending Laurinburg Prep school in North Carolina, then subsequently attending and graduating from Southampton University in Long Island earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Chase was able to do what many youths and athletes dream of, play basketball at the professional level. After seven successful seasons in working with the ABA basketball leagues for the Warrnambool Seahawks, Ringwood Hawks, Werribee Devils and Waverly Falcons, he returned to the US to grandfather his simultaneous Australian hip-hop livelihood.
Hitting the U.S. soil with vigor Chase was able to get four of his songs licensed to a multi-network ABC, HBO, & BBC TV show entitled “Angry Boys” which was a big success. This was one of many doors, which led himto return to his community as an advocate highlighting education, self-confidence, solidarity, empowerment, sports, music and anti-violence.
To date, Chase has over 100 songs and has opened for major artists such as Xzibit, Boys II Men, Lloyd, Blackstreet, Redman & Method Man, Savage, Tank, Papoose, Jadakiss, Sheek Louch, Ron Browz, Rza, Cassidy, and many more domestically and internationally.
