SORROWSEED is a melodic extreme metal band from New England, USA with gothic, doom, black, death, and progressive metal elements. Created by Joshua Carrig and Thomas Cyranowski in 2008, the band's influences include Opeth, Amorphis, Theatre of Tragedy, Arch Enemy, Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, King Diamond, Emperor, Type O Negative, and Satyricon.
In 2009, Sorrowseed released their first EP, entitled "Portents". In 2010 , the full band lineup was completed and Sorrowseed began to take New England by storm. March 2011 saw the release of the highly-anticipated debut double-disc album, "The Extinction Prophecies". In early 2012, the Order was restarted anew with new members and commenced work on their second full length record, entitled "Nemesis Engine", telling a new story of death, despair, and the end of all humanity.
