"There's something very natural about bands that feature multiple members of the same family. Maybe growing up in the vicinity of a sibling who also enjoys playing music makes starting a group, if not easier, at least a logical progression. If two such musically inclined siblings also work together with a third bandmate, then the band might be Lentner." -Michael Cimaomo, Pioneer Valley Advocate, 10/1/12.
Coming from Chesterfield, MA, Jacob Lentner and his brother Joesph have been playing music in their living room for 6 years. They live in the sticks in a town of about 1000, so making their name big in the music industry has been quite a challenge. But that hasn't stopped the guys from having the chance to share the stage with bands like Apocalyptica, Saving Abel, Pop Evil, and Candlebox. The band has also been able to tour the Northeast, while also being featured multiple times on many New England radio stations, as well as receiving plenty of attention from local and regional news stations.
Within only 2 years as a band and having the obstacle of living in a very obscure town, the boys in LENTNER have already made they're name known around Western Massachusetts, Northern Connecticut, and the Worcester, Massachusetts area. Some notable venues LENTNER has played are Patriots Place at Gillette Stadium, Copley Square in Boston, and in front the Federal Hall National Memorial building on Wallstreet in New York City. They have also taken first in many competitions, including the 3 County Fair Battle of The Bands in Northampton, MA, first in the "Rocktober Fest" Battle of The Bands for Springfield's ROCK 102, and first in Umass' "U Rock" competition.
The band's influences range from alternative, modern rock and metal (Nickelback, Metallica, Five Finger Death Punch, Foo Fighters, Shinedown, etc) to classical sounding groups and blues (Ten Years After, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Apocolyptica, etc.). Jacob, Joseph and Cortland love to play, and dream about the day when they can make it their career and lives. For now, LENTNER will play as much as possible.
"We can't wait to see what the future holds for us. So let the critics critique, let the beer keep flowing, and in the words of Bon Scott, 'It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll!!!"
