I started writing raps in 2006. Motivated by what I claimed as garbage that was being played on the radio; I felt like I could write as good if not better as the artists that were in the industry. I continued to show people my raps and finding people who were also writing their own raps. Soon we had a group formed called Group Home which contained; Red Foster, Markilla, AMF, Myself, and others who were never actually full members of the group. After performing a couple house shows we were all addicted. Certain members ended up moving out of the area and splitting up to work on solo projects seemed to be the only option. As we all moved into our solo projects this is the time when I began to truly find myself lyrically and started to develop my flow. The birth of my today’s style had occurred. After passed time the 3 original members of Group Home reunited with a changed name of Bossland. We did not function as a group during this time but rather solo artists under the brand name of Bossland Records. Markilla, (who I meshed with the best) and I had started a side project forming a group with each other called Outspoken. Together with Markilla, Outspoken, and Legg The Preacher was able to perform shows in and around our area. After sometime had passed, and more artists such as Ta' Kova, Smiddy, Lil Banner, and AMF had joined the Bossland team most of the work from the other 2 original artists was no longer present. So decided to part ways again. Currently working as CEO of Bossland Records with artists around the area striving under my command Bossland Records has become a leading Label in the area.
I put meaning into my songs. My first album “Lyrics of Mass Destruction” explains how my lyrics are going to take over the world. I have a song on there called “Track Army” that is about my verses, each one being a soldier that together equals an army. I thought it was creative thinking. I have a song that features Markilla that is called “Landfill,” and it is about how other rappers are garbage and “Im the trashman” coming to take them to the landfill. My new mixtape I am working on is called “Controller of the Road” and it is going to be about being in control of my area on the map. I am excited about this project. In-between these projects I began a mixtape called “Preachers Features” which is a collaboration mixtape of other artists songs (ranging all over the world from Bangledesh to California) that I feature on. Each of those songs I plugged myself into the other artists format and content of the song. Preachers Features can be found at www.bosslandrecords.com/leggthepreacher.html for free download. I also am working on my Official Album currently untitled, but is going together quite smoothly.
