Terry Blankenship is a musical chameleon and has recorded CDs covering a wide range of musical styles, including old time mountain music, Celtic music, rock, trance, ambient, and experimental music.
Terry Blankenship played guitar with Robert Fripp and the League of Crafty Guitarists, touring in the USA, England, and Holland with Robert and recording two CD's and a video with him on E.G. Records and Virgin Records. Terry played on the CD "Robert Fripp and The League Of Crafty Guitarists Live" and also played on the CD "The Lady or The Tiger" with Robert Fripp and Toyah Wilcox. Terry has toured the USA and Europe, done a one hour MTV special with Robert Fripp and a sold out show at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, England.
With "Trance Godz" Terry has created music that can actually put you in a trance. He has created a whole new genre of music with some of these tracks. He calls it world trance because it includes world percussion as used by ancient cultures to induce trance during sacred ceremonies and rituals. It also includes his magical mystical guitar soundscapes.
Terry was the guitarist and vocalist of the rock band "Daemon" and was voted a "Texas Tornado".
Terry Blankenship plays old time mountain music on clawhammer and frailing banjo, and plays traditional Irish, Scottish, English, Breton, and Renaissance music. He sings and plays cittern, bouzouki, octave mandolin, mandola, mandolin, guitar, bass guitar, and bodhran. As a Celtic musician, Terry has played at the biggest Irish and Scottish festivals in the world, including the Milwaukee Irish Festival, and Stone Mountain Scottish Festival. Celtic bands Terry has been a member of include: "Silver Arm", "Margaret Gravitt, Rick Evans & Terry Blankenship", "The Gabriel Hounds", and Terry was a founding member of "The Kells".
