The music of HWS has had thousands of spins on radio stations around the world including the BBC. The name, "Hangin' with Stogie" was derived from Stogie, a Blue Merle Sheltie and family dog. Initially suggested as a joke, the name ended up sticking despite it's controversial connotation, a testiment to the little rebel in these beautiful, southern young ladies. Original music is written by the girls of HWS, produced and arranged with Jeff Covert at Wally Cleaver's Studio in Fredericksburg, VA, and final mixing and mastering by Jeff Silverman of Palatte Studio in Nashville, TN. HWS's first CD, Summer All Year Long, was released in June 2012. Reached a national level of popularity and locally in Virginia was performing for some of the largest festivals in Virginia. Hangin with Stogie was offered a TV spot on America's Got Talent through the help of our sponsor Daisy Rock Guitars. We sincerely thank Daisy Rock Guitars and would recommend them to anyone as the highest quality product in ladies' guitars. We would also like to give a shout out to instructors Toby Fairchild, Anthony Campbell, Mike Wheelehan, and especially Rik Lawhorne who worked tirelessly and patiently through the bands development. In addition to their involvement in HWS, Kylie continues to also pursue her love of musical theater, Megan plays live shows, and Christina is developing her own style of music releasing her first solo EP in the fall 2013. HWS is proud to be a part of Palette Records with producer Jeff Silverman, former lead guitarist and producer for Rick Springfield. Hangin with Stogie would not be who they are without our phenomenal backing players, Band Director/Lead Guitar - Tyler Reese, Banjo and Mando - TJ Honaker, Fiddle - Margo Deihl
