“Fight until there’s nothing left. Fight until you’re dying breath.” - “Fight” by someonElse
These lyrics off their new album “rEvolution: The Summoning Wars Part 1” speak of perseverance, a term someonElse knows all too well. No matter what obstacles lay in your path (or if there’s nothing left), you must always fight and keep pushing forward.
Imagine if you will that the year is 2011. SomeonElse takes on all responsibility for recording, editing and mastering their debut album “The Doomed” in a full DIY fashion. Their strong DIY work-ethic and mentality shines through with the release along with a diverse influence of varying hard rock and metal styles. The album gains many positive reviews from around the globe and earns them a strong following which leads to sold out shows at such venues as Mercury Lounge, Highline Ballroom, Irving Plaza, and a successful run of shows in Puerto Rico.
Fast forward to October 2013 and the band releases their second album “Still Doomed: Remixes, Alternate Versions, and Other Garbage” which is an 18-track remix album of “the Doomed”. The release showcases them as an eclectic musical group with EDM, industrial and hip hop influences throughout the album. This also solidifies their reputation as a surprising, and diverse, entity in the hard rock/metal scene.
Now here we are, with bassist Thomas G. (Eve To Adam, former Jim Rose Circus member) joining the fold just in time to begin working on their third album. “rEvolution” is their greatest pride and joy; capturing their ever growing imagination and range of influences while once again handling all recording and editing on their own in the band’s home base of Long Island City, NYC. The entirety of the album was recorded live, to bring out the best of each musicians performance. To top it off, mastering duties were handled by Joey Z. (Life of Agony, Stereomud) which in turn pushed the album's sonic landscape beyond the bands expectations
With the release of “rEvolution: The Summoning Wars Pt. 1” in Spring of 2015, Perseverance holds new meaning to the band, as someonElse are poised to leave a lasting mark on the hard rock and metal scene as we know it.
