Nora Eckler / Bio

They say great things come in small packages. This statement certainly holds true when it comes to Nora Eckler. A little girl with a huge voice; Nora is meant to take the Country Music scene by storm. Standing 4 feet and 11 inches tall, she has already accomplished a great deal of success in her 20 years of living. Nora grew up in a small town in Southern New Jersey. With a 2-mile radius, it was not long before the town started to give her proper recognition, including naming her The Woman of her County. "My town is so small! Everyone knows everything about your personal life, so it wasn't too hard to get the word out about my music," Nora laughs. At the age of nine, Nora began writing her own original songs. "I would take Lee Ann Womack's [Successful Country Artist] melodies and change the words," she explains. "Of course, my words were not nearly as catchy or advanced as the original words. But before I knew it, I was coming up with my own melodies and concepts."
As talented as that was for a nine-year-old, Nora refused to tell anyone about her music. Instead, she stuck to singing other songwriter's songs, and well-known songs at that. She first sang, "God Bless the USA" in her third grade talent show. "She got a standing ovation," states Jack Eckler, Nora's father. Not too long after, her family got on board with Nora's career in music. At the age of fourteen, Nora began vocal and guitar training at LeGrande Music Academy in Williamstown, NJ. Her voice teacher encouraged Nora's writing abilities, while her guitar teacher started playing guitar for Nora at her local shows. "I wouldn't be where I am today without them, [Her Teachers]" states Nora. In fact, Nora would not be where she is today without the help of many people. She credits those who have helped her achieve even the slightest amount of success in her career. "I'm the kind of person who wants to bring others to the top with me. I will never forget where I came from, I will never forget the struggles I've gone through, and I will never forget the people who have believed in me from the beginning," explains Nora, humbly. "They are the reason I am here and the reason I am able to do what I love."
With an acceptance letter to Belmont University's elite Songwriting Program, Nora recently made the move to Nashville, TN, where she will continue to reside for future years to come. She has released her Sophomore EP, entitled "This Road," which was released in August of 2013. Nora has played in venues all over South Jersey and many other places along the East Coast, not to mention several well-known venues in Nashville. She already has shows lined up for the summer and cannot wait to share her new songs with fans. "I do this for not only myself, but for them, [The Fans] too," Nora says. Whether there is one person in the crowd or 2,000 people in the crowd, I want to relate to them, and I want to share my story with them. I want my audience to get to know me without having to ask questions - That's why I am so honest in my lyrics. This Sophomore EP represents the 'real me' in every way possible. I've never felt so passionate about a group of songs before. I can't wait to see who will connect with me this time around."
