The Sounds Of Dissension is an offering like many modern bands in their cross-genre mixture of style, but they're hoping that the unique content beyond any kind of genre is what separates them from vast mediocrity in the music world. They mix metal's heavy riffs and haunting melodies with punk's straight-forward, energetic beats and relentless bass lines to create a catchy and dynamic sound. The vocals combine both screamy growls heard amongst metal's forefront, with often punk-ish spoken arrays and loungey, emotional melodies. The lyrics are a rare form of non-repeating and deeply metaphorical narration, with discussions of 'self-value', 'despair', 'overcoming struggle' and 'independence'. One listen to The Sounds of Dissension and you should notice something different. The songs have the format of a musical journey, where you'll hear limited repitition with buildups, breakdowns and explosions. Any time the music calms down, you have the chance to zone in to the beauty of the guitar. When you music picks up, you'll either be inclined to headbang or dance. Live shows are a treat with their frontman using all of his surroundings to express the energy found in the music. Soon there will be a full-length album for your listening pleasure.
