Tweed EQ is a Dallas-based Indie Rock band that synthesized out of the electro-blues outfit Austin Brown Sounds. Integrating the bluesy and funky classic sounds of Motown, Chess, and Stax with the contemporary blues of Ben Harper and Derrick Trucks, Tweed EQ rides the outliers of many genre classifications.
With influences ranging from Little Feat to Beck, from Pink Floyd to Queens of the Stone Age, Tweed EQ are fans of all music and lovers of rock n’ roll and its many layers of influences going back to country bluesmen Robert Johnson and Charlie Patton. Their sense of exigency as a performing and creative unit is to play rock n’ roll which both sooths the mind, body and soul and inspires dancing, swaying and an all out exaltation of groove and life, life and groove as they merge into aesthetic experience beyond time and space, subjectivity and objectivity, performance and metamorphosis. Tweed EQ self-released their debut full-length Harmonisizer in early 2010 and are currently recording their second full-length release Second Tour, which will be available in early fall of 2011.
