Robi Rivers (a native of South Carolina) is a gifted vocalist and prolific composer. He attributes his musical learning to the early inspiration and contuous support of his family and the tutoring of the late, Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, and Elbernita "Twinkie" Clark of Detroit, Michigan. Since the age of five, he continues to travel with his "Ma" (Mother Willie Mae Rivers, General Supervisor of Women for the Church of God in Christ, worldwide) as her musician, psalmist, and choral trainer through the United States and the UK (London and Luton, England), and the mission field, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He says: "Ma gave me my first opportunity to sing publically during her numerous speaking engagements. I am very grateful to God for her insight and nurturing". For 15 years, he served as the Music Director for Greater Community C.O.G.I.C. in Marietta, GA, pastor and Bishop Chandler David Owens). Through several years of experience as a musician and vocalist, Robi has shared the stage with Dawkins & Dawkins, Rudolph Stanfield & New Revelation, Kim Burrell, J. Moss, Martha Munizzi, The Clark Sisters, and Vicky Winans. He is also named among the first top ten vocalists for Bishop Paul Morton's Gospel Dream Vocal Competition of over 500 contestants. He is anointed to also preach of the gospel. "Oh what an honor"!
He has appeared on WATC TV Atlanta Live; TBN Telecast "Local Praise"; A Song is Born with the late Dr. Mattie Moss Clark; Pastor Frank Anthone White of F.A.W. Productions. He has also worked with the Atlanta's MLK Celebration Choir; Kevin Bond and Steve Lawrence in the Gospel Dream Contest.
