Dearlin E. Brown, (25yrs) known as Eli.B. Had a great love for Art, Basketball and Rap. In his early years he was torn between the three and could not decide which he should focus his attention on. One day while sitting in his music class at Isley Elementary School in Wichita, Kansas also known as the "Dub-k" he wrote his first rap and performed in front of his music teacher. He remembers writing all four bars by himself. At the age of thirteen, Eli.B’s passion began to grow for the rap industry and he began perfecting his craft.
Born Dearlin Brown, Eli.B. got serious about music at the age of 15. He was a student at Wichita South High School. Eli.B. says “There were a lot of guys who that thought they could rap in our school but I was the real deal." While running through competition he linked up with a fellow classmate by the name of Marcus Hadley (Hev.M.) and the two Mc’s formed a powerful duo named Hev-Yung and began to record songs on tape with karaoke machines.
Ever since then his passion for music has grown everyday. He does work with Eph(4)ilation(Hev.M,Y3,Charlie Atlas,J-RO, D-Nice) and Breadstate(BOO,A-Town, Buddy Roe, Black Jackson, Duce, Rondre, & Big Zoe.) Last year he recorded his first mix tape named Eph(4)ilation’s Nation. The mix tape had 44 songs.
When asked how far he plans to go with his career the Kansas native stated "I plan to go all the way. I feel like I’m the greatest ever and not in a cocky way but if you are a real lyricist you should feel the same". Dearlin grew up listening to Jadakiss, Styles. P, Nas, Biggie, Jay-z, Outkast and Goodie Mob. Although he is a rapper he also enjoys listening to Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway and Lauren Hill.
Eli.B believes he will have a record deal in due time. He works hard everyday and if he ever thought about quitting his girlfriend (Sandricka Paylor) would change his mind. She keeps him motivated. The artist is currently working on his new mix tape titled "Ventilate". Eli.B. felt like he has a lot to get off his chest and this would be the perfect mix tape to do.
Despite his undisputed career he feels that talent will take him a long way. "I never target one particular audience. It doesn’t matter what kind of song I do, it will always reach everyone. I rap what you can feel and relate to. I have the music the world is going to love".
