New York City’s Pistola was formed in 2005 by vocalist Patricia Gradin and guitarist George Podolak. Later on, they were joined by drummer Markus Koelb and bassist Matt Ganser and in complete unison, they developed and worked on a unique sound of energetic and loud rock that’s become their signature. The band’s reputation for explosive and exceptionally loud live performances has been making a mark and nurturing a growing fan base everywhere they go. With their latest full length release, “Nueva York” (2013), PISTOLA shows rightful ownership of their own sound as well as more focused and mature song-writing. Produced by Andrew Schneider (Pelican, Cave In, Unsane) and mixed by Alan Douches(Mastodon, Ben Folds Five) “Nueva York” is a rollercoaster of high energy, post-rock assault waiting to be unleashed. While timeless choruses resonate leaving the listener longing for more the lyrics delve into a time when NYC culturally was a more interesting and dangerous place. Pistola has played with bands like Portugal The Man, Damiera (Equal Vision), Unsane (Ipecac), Earl Greyhound (Some Records), Fake Problems (Sabot Productions), Gospel (Level Plane), Seamless (Equal Vision), Made Out Of Babies (Neurot).
