Jana Anderson has spent the past 7 years touring the world with Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks as a backup singer and is on Fleetwood Mac’s “Live in Boston” DVD and Stevie Nicks 2009 release of her “Soundstage” DVD, both which aired several times on major television stations. In addition, Jana also sang on Stevie Nicks’ “Crystal Visions” CD.
In between tour travel, Jana recorded a current sounding country/rock CD titled “Never Say Never”, which was released to iTunes January 2010. There is a professional video, easily found on You Tube, to go along with the CD for the song “One Way Road.” There is a beautiful duet with Eddie Money on this CD.
Jana was initially discovered by Prince singing in a Minneapolis nightclub he frequented. Some of Prince’s releases where you can hear Jana are on “The Time’s” radio hit “Shake” on the “Graffiti Bridge” soundtrack, and lead vocals on “M.P.L.S.” on “1-800-NEW-FUNK”, where she sang the first and last songs on that CD.
After and during her Prince experiences, she toured as a backup singer with Don Henley for 7 years, including singing background vocals on his “Inside Job” CD on a song titled “Miss Ghost”, where she even shared the microphone with him in the recording studio. She played with him at Woodstock, Walden Woods, and for President Clinton, in addition to his U.S. tours.
Jana has also sung with Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, Jewel, Paul Simon, Eddie Money, Chris Isaak, Sheena Easton, Huey Lewis, and the list continues.
Her early years include being a pageant winner and Star Search winner. She sang many television and radio commercials including Target, Pepsi, Polaris, Nissan, Princess Cruise lines, and many others. Jana has also sung or been interviewed on several TV and radio stations, including a 2 hour live radio interview with famous disc jockey and TV personality, Rick Dees, in Los Angeles.
Away from music, Jana loves photography, cooking, sports and animals.
