The Dropa Stone / Bio

Often described as creating their own brand of Space Rock with a fusion of rhythm and blues, THE DROPA STONE are known for powerful live performances and contagious original music. Weaving a landscape of visually enhancing sounds, the group displays an ability to showcase virtuosity and improvisation through tightly arranged songs, unique vocals, distinctive melodies, guitar wizardry, and a masterful rhythm section.

Founded in 2007 by Jon Meyers (Vocals/Guitar) and Joe Lederman (Drums), two friends conceptualized a vision and recruited Justin Henry (Lead Guitar) and Will Richey (Bass) to complete the lineup. Spreading their musical energy through their latest studio release and a must-see live show, each concert proves to be a unique experience for audiences as the band combines a tapestry of rock, blues, funk and psychedelia through the art of improvisation. The new lineup debuted on a tour of the west coast, performing music that would later appear on their album, Starry Messenger.

Produced by Justin Beckler, the band released their anticipated new album Starry Messenger on March 16th, 2012. They performed CD release shows at the House of Blues and Hard Rock Live, with a heavy touring schedule thereafter. In 2015, The Dropa Stone is releasing a new E.P. entitled "When the Lights Go Low," which they self-recorded and produced. It encapsulates the essence of the band, and showcases their musical evolution.
