Music has always been a big part of Singer/Songwriter, Tricia Torres’ life, in fact she comes from a musical family. Her great-grandfather was a famous composer in the Dominican Republic who wrote the orchestration for the country’s national anthem. When Tricia was a very young child, her grandmother (a singer herself) would fill their home with the songs of tenors such as Luciano Pavorotti. Tricia’s influences are an eclectic blend touched by elements of rock, blues, jazz, folk, country, opera and pop. Tricia’s older sister got her started performing in musical theater and singing at the tender age of eight. The path was set when Tricia first picked up a guitar as a teenager, started writing songs and developing the distinctive style that she owns today. After graduating from college, the New Jersey native headed west to Los Angeles where she currently resides.
