Brianna “Kelani” Blackwell was born in Columbus, Ohio. A Singer, Songwriter, Model, Dancer, Actress, and humanitarian, Kelani has lent her voice to help fight Youth Hunger with Columbus State Community College. Kelani is the proud recipient of the Congressional Recognition of outstanding student achievement and two time recipient of The President’s Volunteer Service Award one presented by President George W. Bush, Jr. and President Barack Obama.
Kelani has competed in pageants, choreographed and hosted special events and has hit the runway on several occasions. She has been featured in Super Model Unlimited Magazine, April 2009 Edition as well as the San Diego Living Show. Her powerful stage presence has made her transition from Model/Host to Artist very natural. She has held multiple titles in the modeling world such as: Miss Teen Spring Valley, Miss Teen San Diego All American, Miss American Scarlet Regional Queen and Miss California International Supermodel. Kelani has always found comfort in the spotlight. As a Pop and R&B artist, she has composed her own lyrics to the popular singles, “Put it Down” “On the Low” and “So Good”. Kelani’s favorite aspect of her career is performing. She has performed at the 2010 Cali Dance Fest at the L.A. Sport Arena (along side YG and The New Boys). She was the headliner for the 2010 San Diego Fashion Fest. In January 2011, Kelani announced that she was officially signed to Ace Entertainment Management, LLC. Since signed to Ace Entertainment, she was featured as a model on the comedian Kevin Hart ‘Laugh at my Pain’ Tour. She has shared the stage with artist such as: Miguel, Mario, Teairra Marie, Jermaine Dupri, Avant, Michel’le, The Rude Boys, Miss Mulatto, Nike’s own DJ Kidd Koby Roc, Shandria Elliott, Judi Jai from the Bad Girls Club, Jay Rush Jennings (Lyfe Jennings brother), Mc Brains, and the Legendary Kurtis Blow. Kelani was the featured swimsuit model for Land of Luv and also a featured act for David Ivory (President of the Philadelphia Grammy’s) Presents.
Kelani is currently in the studio recording her debut project ‘HAPPY HOUR.’
Kelani earned the lead role as “Tessa” in the film “The Rapper” coming to theatres soon about an aspiring singer. Look for Kelani on the stage and the big screen in a city near you.
