CHECK OUT THIS INTERVIEW WITH EMA KIDD FROM PENNY ARCADE ON PUNK ROCK 77 THRU TODAY BLOGSPOT!
Penny Arcade is a punk rock based band that started in 2009 out of Houston, TX. Lead by Emma (Ema Kidd) Banuelos as the bassist and front woman; backed by her partner in crime and loyal husband, Royce Banuelos on drums and finishing out the group is Hector Salas playing guitar. With multiple cross-country tours under their belts, Penny Arcade is packing a major punch with their music and they are certainly not afraid to bring it wherever they might go. With their first album, “We Freed The Slaves”, a loud, punk rock and raw sounding record that introduced the band and their forceful, electric and impenetrable sound. After a two month tour, in which half of that Penny Arcade was a drum and bass punk rock band, they were able to flourish in the way the songs already sounded and incorporated a new way of writing their music. With that came the transition that Penny Arcade developed into with the future release of their second album “VS The World”. An album filled with songs about ambition, fighting for the dream life as well as funny songs based on true events. These are songs that are monstrous and melodic like “King Kong" and “Impatient Soda” to songs that are in your face and raise the hairs on the back of your neck like “Runaway” and “Miami”. Penny Arcade's new album is a definite contender in any music lover's iPod and shows how they thrive as a band and in the music they play.
With the end of 2012 approaching, Penny Arcade is striving to finish the recording of their second album, “VS The World” in hopes to have it release in late April of 2013. As well as, making plans to do another East Coast tour in summer 2013. Keep track of Penny Arcade and all of their adventures at reverbnation.com/pennyarcade as well as on facebook.com/papunkrock.
