Matt Jameson is a singer songwriter from New York who is looking for a break... With his new 5-song ep "DIRT STOMP ROMEOS" in hand, and four-piece back-up band behind him...he is breaking into one of the toughest music scenes on the planet! THIS will be his year. How could it not be??
By securing better shows at better clubs and NOT burning themselves out, The Matt Jameson Band is building on a tried-and-true model for success. Be great, be motivated and believe.
Our next show is at the new and amazing club 89 NORTH in Patchogue Long Island. This is one of the 3 best places to see live ORIGINAL music. Seriously...check this club out. June 13th 9 pm
Audiences are growing and the feedback is consistently stellar. So we are currently booking shows in the NYC and Brooklyn and should soon be doing small regional tours.
Now that we have some financial backing we can really pull this off.
HOPE TO SEE YOU AT A SHOW... Matt Jameson/ Olive Records
Is it a crime to write smash hits these days? This is a question that has raged on for millennia. Well....
Would you know it if the next song you clicked 'play' on was the next Counting Crows or Goo-Goo Dolls? This a question Matt Jameson has pondered for years.
"Let them sue me for getting songs lodged in their limbic brains. I'm a free man!!" was something he probably didn't say.
"Alt-country garage-pop will save radio AND our auditory senses!!" Is completely impossible to attribute to Matt Jameson.
But he'd love to make you a nice cup of tea and hang out and strum some stories up on guitar.
On that I can quote him.
OFFICIAL.....Going into the studio for a patented 'full-length e-p'. This will be the first fully pro record by Matt Jameson. Phillip Jiminez of GORDO STUDIOS has the wheel and I got the map. We are going to make something REAL special. Keep you posted.....
Gordo studios is the organic extension of the musical soul, or being of Phillip Jiminez. You hear his work, and it has all the hallmarks of a seasoned engineer and an adept producer. But having had the chance to see him work his craft, I can swear that the man is more of a moving force than a fixed entity. He is fluid, like the wind.
Fitting, as it takes air to move sound.
In the coldness of winter we are setting out to burn something so hot and bright it will fuse itself to the very machines with which we hope to catch such ghosts of stories and sparks of mysteries that have kept me buried alive for years now.
It was in Seattle that Jameson began writing and recording his own songs. Dark rumblings, words searching through crowded spaces… trying to find sense in a senseless world. Words laced with paranoia and strains of an inescapable optimism. After a few years it was time to return to the only place that could conceivably feel like a real home. New York. They say you can never go home again, but I really don’t think Jameson would agree. The next several years would be spent in and out of bands and relationships… all laying the emotional and creative foundation for the artist we see and hear today. Every bit of Matthew Jameson is in every single one of his songs. Shades, whispers and suggestions of times and places that are buried in a place that only metaphor and melody can re-kindle.
So thank you substitute-hottie teacher, and thank you Mr. Choir director. And thank you Kurt.
