HEAVY. FAST. PISSED. Out of Virginia Beach.
Reckoner is pure crafted chaos hailing from Virginia Beach, Virginia and includes members from Fjord (Eulogy Recordings), , The End of the Universe (Chainsaw Safety) No stranger to touring Reckoner has toured with Norma Jean (Razor&Tie) The End (Relapse Records), The Network (Black Market), Irepress (Translation Lost Records), We Were Gentleman (Century Media) and The Fire The Flood (No Sleep Records). We have also played countless show(locally and national) with such bands as Coalesce, Dead To Fall, See You Next Tuesday,Upon a burning body. Naplam Death.Black Tusk. Soldiers, and many others. Standing apart not only in musical brutality, ferocious live shows and a refreshingly non typical metal/hardcore sound, Reckoner has been storming the underground metal scene for the past 5 years. Reckoners newest EP The Nephilim, which was recorded with Ian Whalen (Tombs, Alabama Thunder Pussy and Lamb of God) at Etching Tin studios in Richmond Virginia, is a sonic assault with guitar and bass ingenuity reminiscent of early greats such as Botch and blisteringly angry chaotic vocals unmatched by the overproduced and blandly mass generated metalcore churned out by suburban angst ridden 20 year olds we have come to accept as the generalized norm. Reckoner is what hardcore and metal have failed to provide in a very long time, sincere unabashed anger that does not blur the lines nor confuse with clichéd, cookie cutter images and replicated musical textures. This is what hardcore was meant to sound like, damn mad
