Roy got his first guitar when he was 15. From that day he knew all he ever wanted to do was play music. During his career he had the opportunity to work with some of his musical heros. To name a few, Ray Price, Bobby Bare, Rose Maddox, Little Jimmy Dickens, Lefty Frizzell, Marty Robbins, Henson Gargil, The Johnny Wills Band, Tex Ritter, Eddie Dean, Tex Williams, Paul Bowman's Country Showmen, Johnny and Joannie Mosby, and Tanya Tucker. When Roy's first band The Bell Hops broke up he formed The Bel-Tones. They were based in the San Jose CA area, and toured the west coast 1964-1978. Roy toured Canada for a year with friend and former drummer's band, Mixed Company. Returning to the U S Roy and wife LeeAnn then formed their present band Sloe Ginn.
