Ivey dropped the bass and picked up the lead vocals as the front man for 100% Proof and then Phantom, with Brian Kahanek. Ivey’s dynamic persona onstage and vocal skills kicked off a personal attempt to become a showman no matter what the circumstance. After a twenty year break, Ivey picked up the bass again after his wife and high school sweetheart, Jessica, bought him a 5 string bass and encouraged him to play and sing again. “I joined Statik Jones after an open mic-night session with Lee Bradley at Diamond Jim’s. This is when I met Will. He told me that I had great stage presence and was I currently in a band? After telling Will that, no, I wasn’t in a band, Will said, ‘Do you wanna be?’ This started the catalyst to the band we now call Statik Jones.”
