Born on the island of the Commonwealth of Dominica, ABDI brings a variety of sounds and musical influence together to create his unique Pop flavor.ABDI Nesta Robert Thomas inherited his musical style from his Caribbean upbringing, as well as western influences such as Michael Jackson, and the Beatles. ABDI’s smooth voice and sexually charged lyrics mixed in with the pulsating Pop synths definitely keep the ladies going.ABDI means "servant" and he is definitely here to serve the music world. At the tender age of 12 years old, ABDI began writing poetry while living on the island as a way to vent his frustrations with the poverty his family was forced to endure. As ABDI entered his early teens he converted his poetry into songwriting, and eventually taught himself how to sing by imitating the notes and melodies of his favorite musicians. Since migrating the U.S in 2003, ABDI is even more driven than before to bring his musical career to the next frontier through countless experimentation with the world/pop/house scene. Though he is now attending the University of Massachusetts; ABDI has remained an exhilarating pop artist who constantly performes and has since opened for Fat Man Scoop and Morgan Heritage at The Maximum Capacity in Chicopee, Massachusetts. In addition, ABDI has performed at the University of Massachusetts’ Battle of the Bands in 2009.The up and coming singer/songwriter had also been chosen to perform at 106 & Park’s Wild Out Wednesdays Audition. The pop singer/songwriter current single, "Ghostly" is currently getting air play from the huge pop station KISS 95.7 located in Hartford, CT. It’s off his latest project entitled Intergalactic L.U.V.. The EP is comprised of a combination of Pop, World and “Island Pop"
