Donna is a multi-instrumentalist with an incredble voice. She began playing guitar in 1973 with a guitar that her dad brought home from the Vietnam War. She acquired her present day Alvarez Guitar in 1976. Since then she has added a lap Dulcimer, Mandolin, Harmonica, Ukelele, Dobro and Banjola. She also plays her Son's Banjo and Daughter's Fiddle and Piano.
Donna has played with local musicians from benefit concerts in Albuquerque, Georgetown and Castle Rock, in bands: "2nd Hand Strings", "Dulcimer Duo", "George & Donna", and with "Bruce Irwin and Friends". Now she is "Simply Donna".
She left the band scene whe she had surgery on her hip and began playing independent coffee house music. George Butterfield, former SW Pickers President, introduced her as "The Albuquerque Songstress". Colorado's Radio Personality: Mike Boyle introduced her as " A Female James Taylor". Her voice wil leave you spell bound.
Donna plays a variety of unique cover tunes along with her own songs. She released her "Simply Donna" cd in 2008 and is currently working on a gospel and Christmas project.
