“Every crag and gnarled tree and lonely valley (vale) has its own strange and graceful legend attached to it”. – Author unknown
Carcerys Vale firmly believes in the connection between one’s character and the events that shape a person’s identity. They have taken this simple fact, every big and every seemingly insignificant experience that dictates who they are in the grand scheme of things, and they’ve attempted to incorporate that into the music they create.
“I believe the constant underlying theme in our music is honesty,” says Austen. “Growing up with all types of music and coming from different backgrounds has allowed us to creatively explore our songwriting and gives light to the blending of a truly unique sound. The music we create is definitely a fusion of the different styles of music that we listen to and love, as well as life experiences that have molded us into the men we are today. All we try to do is be sincere with our music. We hope that shows. And we hope the fans feel connected to us because of it.”
Hailing from Sacramento, CA, this five-piece metal/hardcore outfit has been turning heads in the local scene for 3 years now. They were asked to play Tim Gardea’s Rockin’ Roots Festival in 2009 and were asked back in 2010, but were unable to play due to a prior commitment. They have played at the historic Crest Theater in Sacramento for the SN&R Jammies and they were crowned Sacramento’s Best Band 2009 at Club Retro’s highly regarded Battle of the Bands, beating out 30 talented bands. In August 2010 they won a coveted spot on the Vans Warped Tour/Marysville venue and then won Best Metal Act 2010 from SacShows Awards.
