Cynthia's love of piano began as a happy accident, when one day, at only a few months old, her foster mother placed her highchair close enough to the big old upright grand piano for her to be able to reach other and plink away at the upper keys.
Happily this not only entertained Cynthia but immediatly stopped the other babies in foster care from crying and carrying on. Her foster mother later told her it was a day she never forgot, as when you have 13 babies in your home...and it's suddenly quiet...that's akin to a miracle!
Needless to say, Cynthia's place at the piano began that day!
It was not be until the age of 12, when in her adoptive home that Cynthia would get her own piano. But from the minute forward Cynthia finally felt right at home , feeling as if that is exactly where she had always been meant to be.. but had no idea why, until many years later when she found her foster mother
When at the age of 26 she also located her biological family and found that her whole family were musical and in fact her grandmother a well know award winning fiddle player..all the pieces fit together, the feeling of finally meeting her biological family, beyond description, even in song.
Cynthia has spent her life as a working musician, singer and song writer, leaving home at 15 and joining a touring show band- in Edmonton, Cynthia knows she has been blessed to play at her work all her life!
Now as a mother of two grown children, a daughter Misty Dawn and a son Garrett Andrew and a grandmother of 4 beautiful grandchildren, Cynthia's music has evolved and matured and includes the channeling of music for the specific purpose of connecting people with their highest self and experience a profound state of healing.
The songs shared with you on Reverbnation span many years, and include a mix of FUN songs meant for dancing and celebration and of course some songs meant for reflection and cause for pause!
Most of the songs were recorded in the living room, live off the floor, but 4 of the songs were recorded at Studio 56 in Langley B.C. with Robbie Steinegar doing the Lead guitar and slide parts...you'll know which ones..for certain!!! and the others..Cynthia is doing most of the instrumental parts other then the guitar and dobro. And of course, they are written and arranged by Cynthia and based on her life and the lives of the people she has had the honour of having in her life.
It is Cynthia's greatest hope that no matter which is your desire, to celebrate or to comtemplate, that you find solice and joy in the music you find here on Reverbnation, not only here on Cynthia's pages but also on the pages of the talented and dedicated artists who have gathered here to share with you their gifts.
