The indie pop/country anomaly Scarlet is fronted by the three beautiful Carrion sisters. Growing up in a military family, their influences are those they picked up along their pilgrimage across the United States while following their father on his journey as a Navy deep sea diver to protect the nation. Scarlet represents the multifarious combination of soul, rock, southern, gospel, and blues that they have absorbed from their many duty stations. The girls have lived in Oahu, HI, Jacksonville and Panama City, FL, and Silverdale, WA but have called Corpus Christi, TX home for the last 8 years. Their parents met in a punk-rock band in the late 70's. They eventually left the sex, drugs and rock n roll (ok, well maybe not the rock n roll) for Jesus. Growing up with the likes of Grand Funk Railroad, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Prince, their musical roots are as deep and diverse as the songs they write.
Scarlet’s first EP is due for release early in the summer of 2010 after 7 years of playing in various other acts and leading worship at contemporary mega church Bay Area Fellowship in Corpus Christi, TX. With a heart for the hopeless, Scarlet has set out to change the world with their music and use the profits earned to relieve the pain and suffering of those in need. 50% of profits from all record sales and digital downloads will be given to organizations such as Living Water, Compassion International, and World Vision that focus on meeting the needs of those mentioned above.
The music of Scarlet is the adventure of life experienced through melody that takes you through the emotions we all face; the unknown, triumph, defeat, and most importantly hope, while beautifully tying them together through the unique and edgy sound of the three that are Scarlet. With a hook on every song, Scarlet is sure to capture your ears and your heart!
