HighDive is an increasingly common name in the Rochester, NY Christian music scene, bringing a dynamic brand of rock and pop, powered by solid, uncompromising vocals. Since they came together in 2007, they have been climbing the rungs of the Rochester area music scene with their introspective, driving rock. Under the guidance of the talented John Showler and influenced by industry giants Jars of Clay, Lincoln Brewster and Mercy Me (among others), HighDive is currently working on their debut EP, "Elevated Perspective." This work showcases Joe, Brian and Ashley's bright vocals and impeccable harmonies, Luke's driving, explosive guitar riffs and Eric's unique rhythmic vision.
HighDive began with three highschool friends, Joe, Brian and Ashley, sharing their love of music with each other in show choirs, on stage and in front of congregations. In early 2007, they were playing worship at a local coffee house when the idea crossed them to add some rock to their show. Joe had been playing with Luke on his worship team for a few years, so the prodigy was an easy choice. Eric took some finding, but by the end of the summer of 2007, HighDive was ramping up to break into the Christian music scene.
HighDive's mission is right in the name. Music is their passion, but ministry is their calling. Christ doesn't ask us to look at the world from ivory towers, but to dive back in and spread His Word. "Elevated Perspective" echoes that message, calling the lonely and the suffering to embrace the source of peace, Jesus Christ.
