Born into a family tree of well-versed musicians, Ernie Delores (Caldwell) Shelby is a melodic saxophonist, vocalist and composer. At the tender age of 14, an intoxicated heckler in the audience named her "Lady Sax"®. She is president and owner of Dimples/EDSAS, an entertainment and accounting company. Here she records her own projects, produces demos for upcoming artists, offer financial consulting services for non profit organizations, prepare tax returns, and collaborates with Maestro Advertising to record and produce radio and television commercials, in store announcements and "on hold" messages. To make sure her musical legacy is passed forward to the next generation, she teaches beginning saxophone and conduct entertainment business seminars. She is also founder of S.I.S. (Sisters in Song), an organization dedicated to the positive representation of young women in the entertainment business.Their motto is "Women of the Arts: Qualified and Worthey of Respect." Her One Woman Act is usually booked by private organizations and individual. She has, however, served as the opening act for many well known artists in the jazz, soul, blues and gospel fields. In December ,2010 , She debut her 1st musical "dramedy" called Sheation 1-2:22 in Chicago, IL. Ernie served as the playwright, composer, director and executive producer. In June of 2011, she returned to Gary, IN and did a repeat performance at the Glen Theater. At this time, she would love to follow in the "heels" of Josephine Baker and perform in Paris, France!
