Jon was born Feb 16, 1981 in Atlanta, Ga. His passion for singing started in the womb, while his mother was the choir director and president of the R.B.S Gospel Chorus at Dixie Hills First Baptist Church. By six his mother moved her membership to Cathedral of Faith Church of God in Christ. where he joined the Children choir there. Although no one took notice of his vocal ability at the time. His oratory skills gained him recognition in both school competitions and church events.By second grade he was a constant fixture in all of the assemblies at Anderson Park Elementary School.He joined several Neighborhood singing groups. Singing songs by the Silk, Babyface, Shai, Boyz 2 Men, Jodeci, Stevie Wonder, Xcape, Swv.
At the age of 13 his mother moved his family from the troubled neighborhood off Campbellton Rd to East Point. Now in a new school with no friends. He turned to his first love. By now he has a confident and unique sound that got him recognized by the ladies and also the faculty and staff.He was unknowingly auditioned by Don Reginald Ogletree to be a member of the Tri Cities High School Visual and Performing Arts Magnet Program.During his tenure at Tri Cities. He was allotted the opportunity to work alongside some entertainments most endearing names in musicals such as Dreamgirls, Once on This Island, Tremonisha, School House Rocks Live, and Jesus Christ Super Star.J has worked with various artist such as Redris, R'chive, Get Money Gangstas, Ant Da Man, Ken J. Martin, Throwed Off Ent and Smoove Soul.His greatest inspiration comes from artist like, Stevie Wonder, Daryl Coley, John P Kee, Donnie Hathaway, Brandy, Beyonce, Babyface, Aretha Franklin, The Clark Sisters, Monica, The Beetles, Micheal Jackson and Whitney Houston.
