A singer songwriter in the Americana genre Mark Ripp’s start was in the coffee houses of Toronto some thirty five years ago. In places like Fat Albert’s Mark befriended great local writers like Sam Larkin and paid close attention. Those folk beginnings we're followed by a ten year run as front man and writer for powerhouse Toronto roots rockers The Bel-Vistas.
Following the disbanding of the Bel-Vistas Mark embarked on a solo career that is now four albums deep. Along the way Ripp studied recording engineering and has been on both sides of the glass for his last two records. The latest release is called "Quiet Again" and is a completely self-produced effort. It marks a return to the urban folk roots where his creative life began and received great reviews from critics and fans in the US and Europe. This quote sums it up:
“Ripp is a genuinely great songwriter” – Americana UK
