My name is "E$Y" Ive been doing music locally in Minnesota since 2004. I was originally born and raised in East Oakland, California November, 22 1986. This was around a time when gang violence was at a all time high and the blood and crip fueds were riddled with bullets. Tragically, My father was killed when I was a child which spawned my mother to move to Mn. And man do I miss Cali..the sun..the beautiful women I still visit when I can though! I started out drawing and would draw for hours on end. Sketching cartoons and stories I planned on becoming a cartoonist. Musically I listened to Rap, Classical, Soundtracks From movies I was exposed to alot of Funk due to my mom but as for rap i listen very heavily to Eminem, Jay-z, Ludacris, Lil Wayne,50Cent,Pac,Biggie The Big Guns Boi these were the rappers I listened to more notably Jay-z man i listend and could memorize every line from every album this dude has done! Black Album is still till this day one of my favorite albums!! But his was my music exposure and funny thing is I actually started doing music off a dare oneday in the high school lunch room!, its been history ever since.
I Started with a program Called Hiphop Ejay Which was a very simple Block based Music Program and was fascinated with the whole idea of a "audio canvas" and I made songs everyday allday. Eventually it wasnt enough to fullfill my Drive and Eventually I Came upon a program Called "CoolEdit Pro" I had seen a friend using it and i heard his final product and couldnt figure out how he got his voice to sound so clear also hiphop Ejay was running out of loops for beats. So upon hours of thought. I decided i would dedicate my life to Figuring it out. I mean what do i have to lose?I couldnt attend college because of money and didnt know what else i could make of myself and Honestly.... I was noone. So I began my journey with upgrading my equipment and aquired a copy of Cooledit pro and Fruityloops and Began making Beats and Recording. I did Spanish hiphop For a while and Attended Drama Classes and Choir in HighSchool which all helped tremendously and everyday Id make beat, after beat, after beat. Some Good some bad I did it all day everyday. 5, 6, 15 Beats a day. I remember my mom and Girlfriend at the time hating it yelling at me to turn it off or turn it down. and i didnt. I ended up developing Rap-n-b and gained my first Recognition with a song called "Find you" That I released in 2006 and my first mixtape came soon after in 2007 "Itz All too EZy Vol.1"( Which is still available for download on Datpiff.com) I handed this out to friends and family. I created Rize-n-Shine Entertainement to funnel my music on the web and Eventually I became good enough to start shows and went from there. Since then. Ive Been Offered Recording Deals From Sony, Def jam and a slew of Independent labels including Expat and even its been one(Mn based label) although i Still remain independent.
