Warseid began as a four man group (Logan Smith, Kyle Cushman, Kellan Hilscher, Brandon Salaway) in Madison, WI in mid 2008. The quartet wrote a wide array of music, developing and polishing a sound of their own before moving towards live performances. Many of the bands early compositions, written largely before the addition of Joe Meland in 2009, can be found on aging demos and their first studio release "Sentry."
At the start of 2012, shortly after the addition of Andre Cailliet to the ranks, Warseid began production of their most recent release. With Cory Scheider (Casket Robbery, Luna Mortis, Epicurean) as sound engineer, Warseid set off to make their most dynamic release to date. It was recorded at Scheider's "Old Dark House Studio" in May 2012 and ushered in a new level of musical development for the band. They explored longer compositional structures, more developed chord progressions, and more intricate harmony. This combined with Scheider's production techniques were able to bring out the best in Warseid's musical identity, culminating in the extremely well received release of "Where Fate Lies Unbound."
Warseid has been actively playing shows in the Midwest since 2009 and has become a noted name in the midwest regional metal scene. They have shared the stage with such acts as Epica, Blackguard, Skeletonwitch, The Agonist, 3 Inches of Blood, and many more. As their following grows, so does their reach.
