Aaron Ackerman(guitar) and Dennis Steffen(drums) started Sector7G as a two piece punk rock band in the summer of 2008. They played their first show in December of the same year and have been a regular act in the Las Vegas(NV) music scene ever since. They stayed busy playing shows every weekend, learning the ropes of how the scene functioned and perfecting their live act. With great crowd responses, positive feedback, one of a kind chemistry and a base of support growing, Sector7G make a solid decision to push the project as far as it could go. But they knew they would only face limitations as a two piece.....
After eight months of intense performing and experimenting with different on-stage schtick, Aaron and Dennis began trying out bass players. Many qualified, talented people auditioned for the position but something was always lacking: that personal connection Aaron and Dennis had built over years of their established friendship. They started to understand they weren't going to find that in classified ads or the streets of Las Vegas and when they exhausted their local efforts, they turned to family for help: Aaron's little sister, Ryan Ackerman.
Ryan and Aaron had grown up playing music together but had gone separate ways with their band projects through their high school years. Aaron, though young at the time, found himself wrapped up in the bar scene while Ryan, much too young for the same, joined up in the all female band called The Broads. Fast forward a year or so, Sector7G begins. Jump ahead another several months and The Broads began parting ways, the timing of which coincided with the much needed spot to fill in Sector7G.... Once the decision was made, Ryan stepped in and immediately fit the line up like a glove. Ryan, with her quick wit and natural humor, was the answer Sector7G was looking for and gave them the confidence to take their efforts to the next level.
Sector7G's high energy, angst driven performance has since become a solid, crowd drawing staple in the local Las Vegas scene, having played 225+ shows, a countless number of venues including the House of Blues, and opened for such noted acts as Agent Orange, DI, DRI, Guttermouth, H.R. (Bad Brains), Jello Biafra, Voodoo Glowskulls, Greenjelly, Angry Samoans, Authority Zero....and on and on. Sector7G have proven to be tour efficient with dozen of trips to California and an entire journey up the west coast to Seattle under their belt. They have released one full length album (Small Hits...Hold 'em In) and have material on an untitled Facefirst Records split. Not only do they play shows, Sector7G regularly produces their own events with their one of a kind style of humor and entrainment factors.
Over the past few years Sector7G has proven to be a reliable, professional source of entertainment. They take pride in living up to commitments and make it a point to develop strong, personal relationships with other bands, relative people and associated groups. They are a very hands on, project driven band and are always looking to cross coordinate with others, building a reputation for success along the way. Sector7G delivers a uniquely comical stage show and a style of musical intensity that make them a sure shot for audience approval at almost any occasion. Truly, something you have to see to believe!!!
