Bianca “Dreamstar” Perez was born on February 22, 1989, in Our Lady Of Mercy Hospital in the Bronx, New York. Her incarcerated biological father, Jose Perez, received life sentences in prison, causing her to be raised by a single religious mother, Olga Adorno, and an abusive stepfather, Eddie Baez. By the raw age of 8, Dream had the ability to pick up and play any instrument she touched, without knowing how to read notes. For 10 years, she lived in an abusive home and felt like music has always been her escape. She grew up apart of the Christian gospel playing instruments like the piano, drums and chello. She was also apart of the choir ministry and created her own gospel group at the age of 15 while attending Dewitt Clinton High School in the Bronx, New York. She composed and produced all songs for her group “Living Testimony.” Throughout the years of abusive times and other personal fallouts in Dream’s life- she chose to leave the gospel ministry and take a new journey in life.
By the age of 17, she relocated to Miami Florida for a year and continued her education until she decided to drop out of High School and return to NYC. She then decided to join the military at the age of 18 and was shipped out by June 2006. Her time in the military didn’t last very long after being injured on the job. She then returned home with a G.E.D. and continued to search for her meaning in life.
By 2007, Dream had one foot in music and one foot in the medical field. She became EMT certified and worked driving ambulances in Bedstuy (Brooklyn, NY.) She then decided to pursue her medical career in surgical technology and attended Mandl College to obtain her certification/associates degree. Dream was scheduled to graduate by 2010 and decided to take up the rest of her time making music.
She first started engineering using Cool edit pro and Adobe edition in the year of 2007. She would fill up a shopping cart full of all her music equipment and get paid to go from house to house to record different artist. Dream’s name and worth ethic was slowly spreading out all over New York City. By 2009, Dream was known as a multi-talented engineer/artist who’s love for music was undeniable. From street rap battles to multiple collaborations, even performances- Dream has gained a great amount of experience and respect in the industry. Working with artists all over America to New York’s very own Def Jam Records (Beamer Boyz). Even though she wasn’t signed to the record label, Dream possessed a strong affiliation with the group and even had the opportunity to engineer side by side the infamous legend Dj Jazzy Jay. After having fallouts and being sold dreams by Def Jam records, Dream decided to drop out of Medical school due to legal reasons caused by artist under the Def Jam label.
After cutting all ties with Def Jam, Dream decided to chase a new path continuing her love for music. For a year or so Dream was highly discouraged and stepped away from music for a while. She ran the streets and became affiliated with the wrong people and landed herself to be incarcerated multiple times. Dream was very stubborn and confused while searching for answers to life. By 2010 until the end of 2011, Dream had experienced the hardest times in her life. She experienced the lost of one of her closest friends, Ali Demetrius Jones, who was shot dead in a house party. Also, she dealt with the attempted murder of her older brother, gang violence, the stress of attending court every month and the rape of her younger sister. To make matters worse, she also was experiencing homelessness -sleeping in shelters, park benches, roofs, fire escapes and even went as far as riding the trains back and forth to the last stop in the winter, just to feel some warmth.
She grew up as the black sheep of her family and felt pretty much like an outcast all her life. Throughout her rough journey, it somehow led her to Fullsail University. After correcting all legal issues and receiving dispositions for her crimes, she decided to get up and do something with her talents. By the grace of God, she was lucky enough to walk away and receive a 2nd shot at chasing her dream of music. She was tired of hearing people sell her dreams so she decided to go out and make her dream come true. By April 2012, She applied to Fullsail University. With so much experience in the music industry, it was no doubt in her mind that she wouldn’t be accepted. By June 2012, she was enrolled in Fullsail’s online courses. After getting all financial issues settled, she then decided to relocate to Orlando, Florida and attend school on campus.
Dream has released multiple mixtapes, music videos and recently released her first EP “Love Script.” Currently, in 2014, she continues to pursue her bachelor’s degree in Recording arts. She is now involved in film and is mainly known for her photography, engineering and music videos shot throughout Orlando, Florida. She continues to attempt to get her work seen throughout the world and is always looking to network with new people. As she searches for her meaning in life- she continues to grow and expand her mind in all aspects.
