Officially trained as an Anthropologist, Theatrical performer and Animator- all these aspects feed into her songwriting and performance.
A singer songwriter since aged 13 she has released three recordings to date and played folk/acoustic venues and festivals up and down the East Coast of Australia with regular Festival spots at Tamworth country Music Festival and the National Folk Festival. Internationally she's played variously around Europe and the U.K touring several times to North America.
Her sound? Blues and Roots grooves, mixed with folk style lyrics, jazz harmonies with a touch of 60's pop melody. Acoustic Soul.
In recent years she was Songwriter in Residence on the nationally broadcast "Overnights Program" on the ABC before Sophie was started pointing the microphone outwards with a run of film projects - including Adam Elliot's Animation feature "Mary & Max" and Co Directing with Bob Connolly the box office hit "Mrs Carey's Concert".
Originally from Melbourne but now based in Sydney- with her new band The Reddy Set, Sophie's starting to reinvigorate the gods of live music once again.
