Brent Stephens has been performing and writing country music for over a decade. He sings and writes from the heart about true life circumstances and his fans relate his lyrics to their everyday lives. Brent began writing around the age of 15 and started playing gigs as early as 14 around the town of Columbus, GA, where he grew up. After graduating from high school in 2004, he began to concentrate his musical efforts in college towns throughout the southeast. Playing solo gigs in Athens, GA, Auburn, AL, and Statesboro, GA is where he spent most weekends. It wasn't until 2007 when Brent was finally able to take the stage with a full band in Statesboro, GA where he attended Georgia Southern University. Backed by 4 very talented musicians, the band "Southbound" began to frequent many college towns. Southbound was a country/rock band that was suited perfectly for the college bar scene. With the band Brent had the opportunity to open for many national acts during their early years, such as; Zac Brown Band, Jake Owen, Brantley Gilbert, Craig Morgan and Lee Brice. The band also opened for Luke Bryan on his Farm Tour stops in Statesboro on two occasions. Southbound was together for 5 years and was able to reach many fans with their stops in several southern states. Brent has now moved on to writing and concentrating on performing his original music. Country music is in his blood and in his soul. If you have the opportunity to see Brent Stephens live or listen to his music, you are sure to be hooked on the passion and genuineness of his songs.
