The Fores were formed in late 2009 when good friends Liam Hopkins (guitar) and Dale Andrews (drums) decided to come together and form a band, after searching for the right members for around 6 months the band was eventually completed with Bassist and Lead Singer Jamie Burgess and Guitarist Gaz Gamble.
Since 2010, The Fores have played shows up and down the country; their attitude and dedication has cemented them as a must-see band in Leicester, UK. Their social media following is a testament to their ability to communicate with their ever-expanding fan base, something that is very important to the band with fans worldwide popping in daily to leave comments on the bands page.
Since performing to a packed and star-studded audience at The National Reality Television Awards in London, the band subsequently won the award for ‘Best Newcomers’ at The Independent International Download Awards in 2012. Previous winners include Dizzy Rascal and The Arctic Monkeys.
In 2014, they performed at the Exposure Music Awards in London where they were the only band on the bill to be nominated for 2 awards. In May, The Fores played at Alan McGee’s (Oasis, Primal Scream, Jesus and Mary Chain) District Club in Liverpool and played an incredible set in front of a passionate audience that included delegates from Liverpool Sound City, one of the cities majors music festivals, earning them further recognition and gig offers.
David Bash, the Founder and CEO of the IPO (International Pop Overthrow) Festival personally invited The Fores to play 2 sets at this year’s event, the first set took place at the prestigious Cavern Club and the second over the road at the Cavern Pub. The following weekend they played at Glastonbudget for the second year running.
The band have just finished recording their new album at Woodbine Street studio, with the legendary John Rivers (Paul Weller, The Specials), in preparation for their forth-coming releases.
