Jeffery Nathaniel Blackmore Jr. a.k.a YP The Royalty was born October 15, 1991 in New Orleans, LA. As a young kid he fell in love with music and began singing at the age of six. When puberty hit, and it hit hard, YP's voice changed drastically and he had to give up on singing. After hearing Eminem on the radio for the first time though, he fell in love with music all over, and began rapping.
At the age of 14, YP formed the group S.B.S(Southern Block Souljas) with his two best friends. One of the members quit before anything really happened and D-Meny resigned after the duo dropped their first mixtape. YP didn't stop there; months later he found himself in another duo with an artist called Nova. The group was named R.L.B(Royal Lyrical Beast) and never released any true solo material. However they were on a compilation mixtape with his brother's band. R.L.B and N.O.C released the mixtape and went their seperate ways after that.
Shortly after YP found himself alone again. He decided that group work wasn't just in his cards and ventured onto a solo career. When the mixtape with N.O.C was released, YP was sixteen years of age. The world wouldn't hear his witty, lyrical flow again until the age of nineteen. On November 15, 2010, YP released "Wake Up", his first single on I-Tunes. This was followed up by his first solo mixtape "A Dedication To You" at the turn of the year 2011.
